The one life hack I will practice and promote until I'm dead and buried is this: sprout lentils. Soak them for a day, rinse them once a day, and once they're sprouted eat them. It's easy do to, lentils are cheap, of all the things you can sprout lentils are probably the most forgiving, and they are ridiculously nutritious. A veritable superfood. Feeling sick or just low energy? Eat more lentil sprouts, and feel the difference.
@plexus Yess I do this all the time too! Will also throw in that sprouting actually increases the amount of nutrition you absorb from lentils (which is already a lot) and reduces the flatulence. Even a little bit of sprouting makes a huge difference, so you can use "sprouts" with tiny tails peeking out in recipes you'd normally use regular lentils in
@plexus very interesting! How do you prepare the spouted lentils, I.e. what kinds of dishes do you use them in?
@avi they're great raw, in salads or between a sandwich. You can also stir fry them like soybean sprouts, sprinkle them into soups... endless options, really.
