It’s been six months since taking on the back half and three and a half months for the front half. Then to now photo comparison taken from the same spot. #Allotment #NoDig
Half of the raised bed at home. This is where we grow the majority of our salad crops in small quantities of cut and come again harvests.
I’ve tried to remember what we’ve already harvested from or are now growing in this bed so far in 2025 in the alt text.
The point being, it’s possible to grow a wide variety of food in growing spaces at home than maybe we think we can.
This is in southern England, zone 9a with a mild winter. #GrowYourOwn #HomeGrown #Gardening #NoDig #GrownForagedHarvested
Various climbing beans are in the ground and the allotment greenhouse is planted up. With some peppers, marigolds and basil still to be added. #GrowYourOwn #Gardening #HomeGrown #NoDig #Allotment
Some perennials or self sown annuals that need very little work.
Also some growing beds being prepped to be planted up probably a month from now.
One bed was broadcast sown with a varied mix of a whole load of different salad and root crops. #GrowYourOwn #HomeGrown #NoDig #Allotment #Gardening
More free wood chip. The primary school down the road were having all their hawthorn trees chopped back. I asked the tree surgeons if they could drop it off on the driveway and they were only too happy to do so.
It will be ferried up to the allotments for mulching the pathways on plots. #Gardening #NoDig #Recycling
Bed size: is 4ft/1.2 meter width better than 3 ft/1 meter? If you use a 4ft or wider bed, why - what benefits do you find?
I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth reconfiguring my #vegetable garden layout as part of a general path overhaul this year.
Thanks!
Redoing the #introduction after moving server.

#worms are my very favorite way to #Compost I feed them the content of my compost bins
I also have a #NoDig kitchen #garden where all the produced compost goes to mulch our beds
Do not ask who will fix the #Climate for you ask what you have done for it
