I've just realised I never did my #Introduction .... well, here goes!
I've recently transitioned my career into radio astronomy, and I study pulsars. I get to use the wonderful, iconic Parkes radio telescope to do this work! I am doing this work with the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array project and Macquarie Uni.
I am 9 days away from submitting my Master's thesis, where I have reviewed 10 millisecond pulsars to deem how suitable they are to use in searching for the yet-to-be-discovered stochastic gravitational wave background.
I also founded SpaceAustralia.com a few years back - sharing lots of our local, and world-class astronomy, space community content out into the world.
Absolutely love #astrophotography and capture distant galaxies from my home, deep in the heart of the city's light pollution. Spiral galaxies are my fav!

Most of my research in #astrophysics is devoted to produce #SimulatedUniverses
This is usually not the final goal, but the intermediate step to test (and possibly kill) theories against observations.
Since most of such simulated cosmos disappear with a "rm -r -f *" after they have been tested, I thought this place can be a good place to give them their moment of glory!

A spherical shell-like structure 1 billion light-years in diameter named Ho’oleilana is discovered in the distribution of relatively nearby galaxies. We posit this is the 1st observation of an individual Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO).

The level of amateur astrophotography is getting so incredible.
Amateurs(!) discovered an unknown oxygen gas cloud appearing next to Andromeda in the night sky.
And the photograph of sprite lightning over a Tibetan landscape! I don’t recall ever seeing a similar image before.
