fuck, I have just learned that one of the early western #anime pioneers, the first westerner to work in a Japanese studio, and incidentally also #trans, Jan Scott-Frazier, has died.

Apparently she needed a kidney transplant, couldn't get one donated, and eventually became too sick to survive surgery. She moved to assisted living and started a couple of GoFundMes for donations to cover costs, then died.

Fuck US healthcare for becoming this kind of cesspit. Every single insurer should be fucking ashamed of themselves.
