Hundreds of fans of Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer team “were ambushed and attacked in Amsterdam” on Thursday night as they left the stadium following a Europa League game against Dutch side Ajax, the Israeli embassy to the United States said on social media platform X.

...they have to be rescued by a special plane Israel is sending.

Now, you tell me, as a European Jew, that Europe is safe for me and people like me.

But even this post, if we assume everything bad about the Israelis is true (which I don't know if it is or not) then we come to the following conclusions:

1. The Israeli soccer fans were chanting horrible stuff
2. The Israeli soccer fans were engaging in vandalism
3. The Netherlands soccer fans beat them up severely, with a dozen requiring hospitalization
4. The Netherlands soccer fans were going around asking if people on the street were Jewish and if they were, beating them up

Should vandals and jerks be arrested. Absolutely!

Should they be subject to mob rule and violence? Absolutely not.

Should people on the street be asked "Are you a Jew?" and beat up if they answer yes? No!

This is violent antisemitism. I don't know what's to be confused about.

Step 4 is definitely bad.

The question becomes, if some people (edited) get special treatment by the media and the police and are left free, what are people supposed to do?

If you beat me up what am I allowed to do? Am I allowed to defend myself?

Is there actual confirmation that the Israelis actually committed vandalism and/or assault the night before? Like, police reports or security video? Or is this just "some dude said"? Because it sounds very sketchy to me and even if it did happen (which probably not) it is not a justification for what took place last night.
