@hansenpansen US writers and actors are on strike (since May) for better pay and guarantees around the studios' use of AI. The studios are no longer negotiating in good faith and believe they can just starve the workers into submission. Netflix is serving overseas content to fill in for the lack of new US content. Disney is removing streaming content "to save money" and both Hulu and Disney are putting their prices up (substantially)
