Just spent 2 weeks holiday in the midwest USA (Chicago & Wisconsin Dells). Some impressions:
* Chicago is one of the most friendly big cities.
* The state dish of southern Wisconsin is Various Shades of Brown. If your plate has something green, it is likely a slice of pickled cucumber.
* The area has french-fried potatoes _on lock_. Everywhere, every style, from small diners to gyros shops, the taters were perfect.
