@kolev Something that informs my view of this (which I feel is largely the disconnect between myself and many others):
I used to think that creating a pluralistic society built on the acceptance and support of others would prevent the rise of hate.
I still believe in creating a pluralistic and egalitarian society, but now I do it simply because it's the right thing to do, not because it will somehow prevent problems.
