Surprisingly busy at my local polling place - at least busier than I had ever seen it, and I had even waited until after the morning rush (after 9:30am) before going.
I mentioned that to one of the poll workers, and they said I should have seen it at 7am when they opened - apparently it was hopping, despite the dreary weather. Turnout that strong is a positive sign.
But still - huge kudos to the poll workers at the Woodbury 15 precinct who continue to make everything effortless and easy, as it should be. Even with chitchat, my wife and I were in and out in under 15 minutes. Fast, efficient, and easy.
Anything else is just downright anti-democratic.
Of course, not all folks attempting to vote are so lucky. Some people face long lines.
You know what makes waiting a *wee* bit better? PIZZA! I'm happy to have donated to the nonpartisan, nonprofit organization just now.
(Although, a bit disappoint that in their call to action to share the act, they didn't include Mastodon????)
