@marcoarment @codinghorror It’s kind of depressing it’s still framed as trying UBI out to see if it works. Don’t get me wrong, this is absolutely a big deal.
We know UBI works, and extremely well. We have well over a thousand trials at this point, all across the US and in a bunch of other countries. It consistently increases health, increases happiness, increases economic stability, increases employment, reduces crime, reduces homelessness, improves basically every societal metric we’ve ever tracked.
@marcoarment @codinghorror @codinghorror , might you have a quarter million dollars for a community makerspace in Norwood, MA? Asking for a friend. And a few towns. Also for me.
@marcoarment @codinghorror Obvisously Someone has read Napoleon Hill's how to win friends and influence peopleAnd it has not forgotten.

That's good of him, but what we need more are proper taxes for the very rich, and wealth redistribution, so we don't have to depend on rich people to be good.
@marcoarment @codinghorror As someone who grew up in West Virginia and has visited all 55 counties, this very much needed, thank you. WV faces many structural issues that keep people in poverty that UBI may or may not fix. Investing some of this money into quality #education with quality teachers paid a legitimate salary, would, IMO, go a long way to sustain a path out of poverty.

@yaurthek @codinghorror Of course, but that's not the environment we're in.
Maybe we'll get there someday. In the meantime, we need rich people to be good.
