A Blue Jay tries to distract me with its brilliant blue tail feathers while helping itself to a grossly unfair amount of suet.

A Blue Jay perches on top of a cage suet feeder. The jay is facing left. Its face and throat are white, with a spot of black just in front of the eye. A necklace of black runs around the bird's neck. The bird's back is a soft blue. There is a white flash in the folded wing. The folded tertials and secondaries show bright blue with a black cross-pattern. The bird's tail is extended and slightly spread. The tail base color is light blue with a black cross-pattern. The tips of the tail feathers show large white spots. The cage feeder is hanging from a tree branch. Beyond the tree branch, another tree trunk is visible but slightly out of focus. Further away, a blurry background shows light vegetation and there is a hint of a brick building in the distance.
