You have to live through it to understand it. I would never compare our situation as EQUIVALENT to what Germans dealt with under Hitler's reign, but it's RELATABLE. Growing up, I always wondered: why didn't "people" stop Hitler? Because "people" thought he "wasn't that bad" until it was too late.
I also think the trite "what would you have done in Nazi Germany" question is illuminating. What would we have done, indeed? How does one person overcome the power of a systemic villain? It's not as easy as it is in the comic books.
At this point, the mere act of voicing disapproval of Trump and his administration is a risky, political act. I guess "what would I have done in Nazi Germany?" is ... keep posting/blogging. But one of these days a citizen will be "deported."
@danielpunkass During any point in Trump 1.0, I'd have taken that bet (and I'd have won). Now in Trump 2.0, I wouldn't take that bet.
i would bet that it has already happened.
@gruber @danielpunkass I was intentionally waiting to see what would happen in this election... now I am fully unleashed 💛
@davew @danielpunkass I sadly wouldn’t bet against that either. But it would go against their showboating nature. They like displaying their actions. (While hiding their faces.)
