Made the cranberry sauce for next week. I could eat the whole thing it’s so good. #thanksgiving2024
@Ronnie @gedeonm I've been seeing lots of comments like this. Some seem very violent in their protection of canned. I grew up with canned stuff because I lived in a lot of remote places with not a lot of access to fresh cranberries but when I moved out on my own, a friend made cranberry sauce herself &...it was superior. :)
Stuff like that can be comfort food, though, so whatever... :) It might have to do with how sweet people like it. Homemade allows more control of sugar amounts.
@CStamp @Ronnie Yeah exactly this. I grew up with the canned jelly type and I still love it. It is indeed comfort food but once I made my own there’s just no going back. The recipie I have makes cranberry sauce that is good on more than just turkey. It’s wonderful on toast or an English muffin, over vanilla ice cream and more. Delicious!
